Contact Import Staging

This section is for working through buttons, related lists and lightning pages for the Contact Import Staging object. Contact Import Staging is a way to import Contacts into Salesforce and update existing Contacts or create new Contact. It's a way to bring contacts into Salesforce from other systems. For more detailed instruction on configuring Page Layouts or Lightning Pages, see the Accounts or Contacts object configuration.

Content

Page Layouts

  • Click Setup, Object Manager, Contact Import Staging
  • Select Page Layouts, Select Contact Import Staging Layout, then Save As to create a new version or simply edit the existing version
  • Click Related Lists in the pallet
    • Add or remove related lists as needed
  • Save

If a new page layout was created, assign to the appropriate Profiles. If you want to limit who has access assign the page to only profiles which have been given access.

Lightning Page

A custom Lightning Page isn't necessary for this object. Users will see the Contact Import Staging in a “Default” lighting view. But if you want to configure one, follow these steps.

From Contact Import Staging, Object Manager, Select Lightning Record Pages

  • If a page exists, select it or Click New to create a new page
  • If you selcted an existing page, Click Clone and add a new label and API Name, configure as needed, Click Save
  • If you clicked New, Select Record Page from left panel, Next
    • Assign a Label and Search and Select the object (in this case Contact Import Staging), Next
    • Choose a Page Template from left panel, Done
    • Build the new Contact Import Staging lightning page by dragging the components and fields from the left panel.
    • Save and Activate
