Opportunities
This section is for understanding how to use the Opportunity and related objects. Opportunity is a standard Salesforce object and works with NPSP package objects Payments, GAU Allocation and General Accounting Unit (Fund) to track giving from donors, the date the payment was made and the Fund the gift went into. Foundation Partners Donor 360 also adds a custom object called Gift Batch which helps organizations track gift entry into batches and Security Settlements to track information about security gifts.

Creating Opportunities
If using the flow template, begin by clicking the custom Create New Donation button on Account
- Populate fields on each screen and create the Opportunity, Payment, GAU Allocation records.
- A cash gift will look something like this. See the Payments page for more details on Payment records and see the GAU Allocations page for more details on the GAU Allocation record.
- If your org wants to use the Gift Batch functionality, populate that field and as many of the fields in the flow as your org needs
- This flow will accomodate cash and non-cash gifts; if a non-cash gift of stock/securities was entered security related fields can also be populated. If your org has a Tiingo account for stock/securities pricing and if it has been configured, add the Call the Tiingo API for this Security to the flow used for gift entry.
